I had the opportunity to interview for a June article featured in AutomationWorld, titled Managing Supply Chain Risk. This article, authored by Contributing Editor Alex Anderson, provides a broad perspective on the increasing occurrence of supply chain risk in today’s global supply chains.
My observations reflect on how the forces of lean and just-in-time supply chains have conspired with the severe global economic recession to significantly increase supply chain risk factors. You can also absorb quotes from others in the field as well.
I believe this article provides an up-to-date grounding on the current state of risk management across global supply chains along with some pointers towards developing a risk management strategy.
Not all of my perspectives made themselves into the article, and if you would like to speak further about them, please give me a call or email. You can email me at bferrari at blog1 dot com, or you can download on my website a copy of my risk management case study white paper outlining Boeing and Airbus.
The bottom-line is that risk management needs to be on your management agenda.
