Supply chain design and planning simulation technology software provider LLamasoft has announced that supply chain sales executive Razat Gaurav has joined the company as its new Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors effective today.
Razat succeeds founder and CEO Don Hicks, who will continue in the role as Chairperson of the company.
Gaurav joins the LLamasoft executive team after previous multiple executive roles at JDA Software, where he last served as Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. Gaurav came to JDA from the prior acquisition of supply chain planning software provider i2 Technologies where he rose to the role of Senior Vice President of Sales.
Today’s announcement is likely to be a surprise to existing customers of the company’s technology who have often viewed Hicks as the persona of LLamasoft’s customer conferences.
As part of today’s news, LLamasoft co-founder Toby Brzoznowski was noted as continuing to be as an active member of the company’s senior leadership team, serving in the role as Chief Strategy Officer.
Supply Chain Matters initial take was is to context this new CEO appointment as a natural evolution of Ann Arbor Michigan based LLamasoft’s current growth path. There comes a time among many growing software and technology companies where the founder naturally steps aside to pursue other creative instincts or quality of life objectives.
Gaurav’s background reflects a solid record of accomplishment of growing revenues and he further brings a solid industry background in the supply chain planning, end-to-end visibility, and network modeling technology market segment. That background serves as a signpost of future direction, namely growing the company through its next phase of growth.
This supply chain technology influencer has reached out to the LLamasoft executive team to garner additional background to today’s announcement and will share that in a later follow-on commentary.
