This Week in Supply Chain Management Tech calls reader attention to supply chain planning and response management technology provider Kinaxis’s  announced acquisition of Prana Consulting, a niche specialized supply chain planning consultancy based in India.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Supply Chain Matters This Week in Supply Chain Technology

What makes this acquisition noteworthy is the fact that Prana has been a key systems implementation partner for Kinaxis over the past fifteen years, throught many iterations of Kinaxis technology. This supply chain industry analyst often has the opportunity to touch base with Prana Founder and CEO Vijay Subramanian at the many Kixexions customer conferences held over the past 12 years.

Prana has long established a recognized competency in assisting with the most complex and wide scope Kinaxis RapidResponse implementations, and customers presenting at the annual customer conference are often mentioning Prana, among a few other specialist systems integrators, as their preferred and most helpful implementation services partner.

According to the announcement, the acquisition will add many highly skilled technical and process focused practitioners and will form the basis of an expanded  services hub for  global based Kinaxis customers and other consulting partners.

It is little secret that as Kinaxis expands its RapidResponse customer base globally, the need for a services center-of-excellence becomes ever more apparent.  From our lens, this is a smart move.
